To catch everyone who didn't see the last post up to speed, my little brother is looking at a 2009 lancer with cvt for his first car. I sent a email to the dealer with a offer and was waiting for a response last time I wrote. Anyway, apparently the price is pretty much non-negotiable, so I walked from email negotiations, But we went to see the car anyway. Turns out I was wrong about a couple things about this car. First, It's basically loaded with factory options (everything except for navigation) so the asking price is actually more realistic than I thought. Second, the car is really good for a non car person, even I was fine with the car. So my brother is going to try to get his license on monday and try to buy the car the same day. Hopefully next update will be pictures of the car.

The interior didn't really bother me, but then again I did have to ride around in a first gen new beetle for a few years. God that was the worst interior ever!

I used to have a 2009 Lancer with a CVT. Never had any issues with it. It drives kind of good. The Rockford Fosgate Speakers and sub are the best I've ever heard. Fuel economy is meh.

As you said, it is a good option for a non car person.

Yeah, I didn't realise the speakers were factory at first. I suggested ripping the sub out and selling it to recoup costs, but reneged my suggestion when I found out it was factory installed.
